We’ll see you in Court!

Gov. Ron DeSantis has vowed to protect Florida jobs by pushing back against President Joe Biden’s recent executive edict of mandating vaccinations for millions of Americans.

Expect a legal challenge from Gov. DeSantis. It’s not a matter of if DeSantis will while a lawsuit against the Biden administration, but when. MUST-READ

Join POLITICO for a virtual event as they have a discussion on the intersection of tech, innovation, regulation and politics. They will convene members of Congress, White House officials, tech executives, tech policy experts, and activists to discuss what the Biden administration agenda and tech legislation moving on Capitol Hill mean for innovation, market competition, consumer privacy and content moderation on social media platforms.

Common Core No More

Gov. Ron DeSantis and Education Secretary Richard Corcoran have announced that the dreaded Common Core education standards, or Florida Standards, will be scrubbed from school curriculums. Sorry, Jeb, Floridians don’t like the standards.

Democrats are also on board with this proposal. Sens. Lauren Book and Shevrin Jones are just two Democrats who side with DeSantis on this.

State Sen. Jones (D) stating: “I look forward to teachers getting back to genuinely teaching, and moving away from teaching to a test, something that only hinders student development and long-term potential.” READ MORE

Carlitos’ Way

Love him or hate him, but Rep. Carlos Guillermo Smith (D) is proving to be pretty effective, and it appears as if his lawsuit to pressure the DeSantis administration demanding that COVID numbers may have worked.

“After withholding detailed COVID death data for months, #DeSantis suddenly releases the info after WE SUED THEM. Coincidence?- Rep. Smith

Was it a coincidence?

Lauren Book-As a former classroom teacher, I join educators across the state in expressing excitement over this announcement. *PENDING FURTHER DETAILS* wonderful potential here to change FL’s public education system for the better. Let’s get teachers back to TEACHING, not teaching to a test!

Rep. John Rutherford-The Biden/Harris Administration declares and uses a public health crisis to force a vaccine upon you. Next, the CDC will declare firearms a “public health” issue and use it to cancel the Second Amendment. This IS about freedom, Mr. President, and it cannot stand!

Rep. Ted Deutch-The decision to end the US war in Afghanistan was correct but we owe it to those who gave their lives, including our NATO & coalition partners who went to war alongside us, to assess where failures occurred.

Rep. Anthony Sabatini-We live in one of the most corrupt countries in the world and most people can’t see it.

—Rep. Kathy Castor-The devastating impacts of the climate crisis are all around us: monster hurricanes, extreme cold snaps, record-breaking heat waves. We must meet this moment with critical investments to #BuildBackBetter – in clean energy, innovation, resilience and environmental justice.

Rick Scott=As the Communist Cuban regime continues to oppress its people, I’m proud of Nacho Rocha & other Cuban-American pro-democracy activists demanding that the @UN& the international community stands united with the Cuban people’s fight for freedom.

Senator Jason Pizzo-The staff at @AMIkids meet our kids at the crossroads, but you’ll rarely witness a better demonstration of how providing adequate resources can help children succeed. An issue both sides of the @FLSenate should always agree on – state funding for this program is an investment.
