President Joe Biden (D) continues to receive sharp criticism over the political turmoil in Afghanistan and the subsequent withdrawal of soldiers, interpreters, and people that were stranded in that country. However, Florida GOP members have slammed the administration while also introducing a resolution to condemn the President over its handling of the situation.

In the latest development, Florida Senator Rick Scott (R) has issued a statement, calling for an investigation into the Biden Administration’s handling of the Afghanistan withdrawal. Sharing his disappointment, Scott called for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D) and Senate Majority leader Chuck Schumer (D) to launch an investigation instead of being “shamefully silent.”

On Twitter, the former Governor of Florida shared a video clip with his statement, that read: “It’s clear we need a full investigation into Biden’s failed withdrawal from Afghanistan, yet our ‘leaders’ in Congress have been shamefully silent.”

Scott also called on “Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi to put the American people over partisan politics.” Scott then added that “Biden’s misguided and dangerous decisions have costs lives and put Americans in grave danger. We need accountability now.”

Along with the clip, Scott also expressed that “Biden’s failed withdrawal from Afghanistan has cost  lives & dangerously stranded Americans,” once again asserting that Speaker Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Schumer “must put partisan politics aside & immediately launch a full investigation to hold the Biden admin accountable.”

Pelosi, Schumer and the Biden Administration have not responded to the call, but Florida GOP members are expected to voice their support for the investigation.

In early August, Florida Senator Marco Rubio (R), a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee, shared that the Biden Administration had been warned against rescinding troops from Afghanistan. However, Rubio said that the Administration did not heed the warning, and “we are now witnessing how true our warnings to them were.”
