Representative Mike Haridopolos (R-FL) discussed Democratic resistance to the "Big Beautiful Bill" as deliberations continue and their "Project 2029" agenda in a recent appearance on Fox Business's Mornings with Maria, comparing them to the Soviet Bolsheviks by saying they have "gone back to the Soviet playbook of 1917."

Rep. Haridopolos specifically called out the rhetoric of House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY), whom he said was "not telling the truth."

"We protected the most vulnerable people on Medicaid, those people who are in nursing homes, those people who are disabled, let alone children of low-income parents and pregnant women," Rep. Haridopolos said, adding, "We did not change one thing, but we did say: 'If you are unwilling to work, we are not going to give you free healthcare because other people are paying $150,000-$200,000 a month."

The Florida Congressman first referenced the Bolsheviks by pointing to the nomination of Zohran Mamdani as a New York City mayoral candidate, which he called "straight out of Karl Marx and [Vladimir] Lenin."

"Republicans want to empower individuals to spend the money as they see fit, whereas Democrats are still playing the old tax and spend game," Haridopolos continued, adding, "America has had enough."

Host Maria Bartiromo then brought up "Project 2029," which is the Democrats' plans for the 2028 Presidential Election campaign, asking the Florida Congressman for his take on apparent "solutions" found in the project.

"I think they should rename it the 1917 Plan, after the Soviet revolution in Russia," Haridopolos quipped. "They think that you send the money to Washington; they know what is best for the American public. They are wrong, as usual. I am a former history professor. I believe in the American ideal of property rights, the rule of law, empowering individuals, and capitalism. The Democrats have gone back to the Soviet playbook of 1917, and I think that we have seen that clearly in the last few days."

The bill passed in the House of Representatives by a vote count of  218 to 214.
