As the mainstream media focuses on the Saigon-styled failure in Afghanistan, the whole Middle East has begun to fall apart.  Months ago Israel and Hamas supposedly ended their deadly exchange of missiles but that brief period of peace has seemingly ended.  Hamas has launched attacks on Israel amid the U.S.-Afghanistan failure.

"Air raid sirens sounded in southern Israel on Monday after a rocket was fired from the Gaza Strip, the first since the 11-day war between Israel and Palestinian militants in May." writes the New York Post.

The Israeli military officially issued a statement that it identified one rocket launch that was intercepted by aerial defense batteries.

However, there is no immediate claim of responsibility for the rocket fire.  But the attacks came hours after Israeli troops clashed with Palestinian gunmen during a late-night arrest raid in the occupied West Bank, killing four Palestinians in one of the deadliest battles in the area in years.

The fighting erupted in Jenin, a city in the northern West Bank where tensions have been high since a man was killed in fighting with Israel earlier this month.

Israel’s paramilitary border police said its forces were attempting to arrest a suspect when they “came under heavy fire from close range” by a number of gunmen. It said Israeli forces returned fire, and none of its officers were injured.

The official Palestinian news agency, WAFA, said four men were killed by Israeli fire and a fifth was seriously wounded.

The Hamas-dominated Palestinian Authority has been in conflict with Israel since it's conception.  However, tensions heated up when Israel and Hamas exchanged thousands of rockets in early 2021.

The issue, like many, became political in the United States, resulting in progressive Muslim Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) espousing anti-Israel rhetoric by calling Israeli support and funding by the US an "act of terrorism" and called Israel an "apartheid state."

National firebrand Rep. Marjorie Taylor-Greene (R-GA) infamously fired back at Omar directly to the Floridian this Summer in Washington, rebranding Omar's Congressional "Squad" the "Jihad Squad."
