Kicking and Screaming Media

The highly anticipated 2022 Sunshine Summit came and went this past weekend, but it didn’t conclude without a little media meltdown/controversy.

The Republican Party of Florida (RPOF) handpicked which media outlets were to be credentialed to cover the event, leaving many within the mainstream or “legacy media,” as Gov. Ron DeSantis calls them, fuming mad.

Those uninvited media outlet, which included POLITICO, Miami Herald, Palm Beach Post, and Washington Post, shared their frustration on Twitter.

The bitching and moaning was led by none other than Florida’s “fake news” petulant child, Peter Schorsch, aka, The Hamburglar, and his small group of liberal crybaby bloggers.

The Floridian was on the invited list (of course we were) as well as few other mainstream outlets like the Sun-Sentinel, News Service of Florida, and one reporter from the Tampa Bay Times.

As The Hamburglar, who never misses an opportunity to try to dress down Gov. DeSantis, and others tried to care for the wounded egos, Republicans were far too happy and willing to pour a ton of salt into that wound.

Team DeSantis’ Lindsey Curnutte, the RPOF’s Helen Aguirre Ferre, and none other than super-duper secret agent and pariah to legacy media types, and 'Defender of DeSantis,' Christina Pushaw, took to Twitter each armed with a bag of Kosher salt.

Here is The Floridian’s coverage of the Summit:
