Winter Park, FL - Down in Florida's Congressional District 9, the fight for the GOP nomination is heating up.  Candidate, Scotty Moore (R-FL) has been reinstated on the ballot along with crucial endorsements that might be enough to put him over the top in his primary race.

Moore was previously ousted off the ballot due to a state error filing his candidacy.  When taken to court, the Moore campaign was triumphant and was able to keep its place on the ballot in the Republican primary race where the winner will face US Rep. Darren Soto (D-FL).

Soon after announcing his reinstatement at a fundraiser in Winter Park, Florida, Mathew Staver of Liberty Counsel publicly endorsed Mr. Moore for Congress.  Staver is the former Dean of Liberty University Law School, and founded the nonprofit, Liberty Counsel.

At the event, Staver told The Floridian he supports Scotty Moore because he believed Moore had a "strong call to be in public office."

"He has a strong call to be in public office, to make a difference in this country, and he has been compelled by what he sees around him.  To be in public office, and literally protect our children, and our families, and our country," said Stayer.

Staver added that Moore is, "right on the issues," and has "a worldview foundation that supports his views and so I don't have to worry about somebody like Scotty as to where they are going to vote on a particular issue.  He is going to be grounded in his thinking, and he is going to do the right thing."

The endorsement from Mathew Staver is not the only support that could draw voters to Moore in the Republican primary race.  The candidate was also backed by Trump White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows (R) and the Florida Republican Assembly, which is a Republican organization that claims to promote, "conservative principles," and claims to be the, "home," of Republicans like Abraham Lincoln, Ronald Reagan, and Fredrick Douglas.
