Florida Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D) continues to receive support in his congressional bid. After receiving the endorsement from Secretary Hillary Clinton (D), Moskowitz has now gained the support of Protect Our Future, a new Democratic super PAC.

In a statement, Michael Sadowski, who leads the PAC, commented that Moskowitz's "leadership as Florida’s Director of Emergency Management was instrumental in accelerating the distribution of COVID-19 vaccines, and in Congress he’ll work to prevent the next pandemic,” adding that "this is exactly the type of vision and leadership our country needs.”

Moskowitz's work during the pandemic is something he has highlighted on the campaign trail, and he's currently the frontrunner in the race.

In response to the endorsement, Moskowitz commented that he's "the only candidate in this race — and one of the only candidates across the country — who has firsthand experience doing emergency management during the pandemic, and I know that we need to do more to improve supply chain issues and prepare for potential future health crises."

“I’m proud that our work during the last few years saved lives, and I will continue fighting for science-based healthcare policies in Congress," Moskowitz added.

Moskowitz was appointed to his Director of Emergency Management position by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R), who has faced scrutiny from Democrats over his own response to the COVID-19 pandemic. He is currently a member of the Broward County Commission, and in late 2021 Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava appointed him as an advisor to Miami-Dade's response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Sadowski, in his statement, further commented that the COVID-19 pandemic has not come to a close, so it's important to still address it.

“The pandemic continues to have a devastating impact on communities across the country and without major action targeted at preventing future pandemics, America might once again find itself in this same situation,” he said, adding that the PAC “is putting its support behind a bench of candidates who will be vocal advocates for pandemic prevention.”
