Carlito's Over-the-top way

Lawmakers like it when media outlets like The Floridian write about them, and they appear to go out of their way to write or say something that will garner them more media attention.

This is usually the case with most Right-Wing Republicans and Progressive Democratic lawmakers.

Take for instance Rep. Carlos Guillermo Smith, who is arguably one of the most Socialist-minded and attention-seeking knuckleheads in the Florida Legislature.

Some of the stuff ‘Carlitos’ says is so over-the-top and asinine that it astonishes even the most seasoned politico and media type.

For example, when Gov. Ron DeSantis tapped Dr. Joseph Lapado to be Florida’s Attorney General, Carlitos flipped his lid this past weekend.

Because Smith believes that Dr. Lapado is “skeptical of vaccines” and is “anti-mask,” that the Harvard-educated doctor is also “anti-Science,” and referred to him as a “so-called doctor.”

Do we wonder if Smith is also a medically-trained healthcare provider like the “so-called” Dr. Lapado?

Smith is a really good legislator, he is always putting his constituents second behind political expediency and his ongoing search for attention.

On the floor of the House, Smith commands attention and is usually very articulate when espousing his thoughts or making the case for any of the items or issues he is advocating for, like anything that has to do with the LGBTQ community.

Florida’s COVID Cases and Deaths Drop

Abortion Rights

Florida Democrats blew a gasket last week when Rep. Webster Barnaby introduced his Texas-style Abortion bill during the first committee week of the 2022 legislative cycle.

We all knew it was coming.

Democrats are now going all out to defend a women’s right to kill a baby, and have organized protests around the state.

Interestingly enough, these are the very same Democrats that have accused Gov. DeSantis of killing infants and toddlers with COVID.

Let get me get this straight.

Democrats are protecting the right of any woman to kill a baby before it is born, but once that baby is born, they are championing his or her “Right to Life?” READ MORE

Matt Gaetz-The Red Flag inclusion was a staff error. Both sides agree it’s coming out. Drafting women is a terrible idea & is coming out too. TONS of good in this bill to win great power competition & end forever wars - good #AmericaFirst policy. Final bill won’t have these poison pills

U.S. Rep. Stephanie Murphy-ICYMI: This past week the House passed the bipartisan National Defense Authorization Act to help us deter our adversaries, support our allies, & provide our troops with the resources they need. #FY22NDAA

Rep. Ted Deutch-Once again, Florida Republican legislators are trying to strip away healthcare rights by following Texas' lead. Abortion is a personal healthcare decision that every American deserves to make on their own no matter where they live.

Rep. Anna V. Eskamani -Welcome to Florida, where a Republican lawmaker files a bill to ban abortion and when asked about it by reporters says he “has no comments at this time.” So you want to strip away my bodily autonomy while attempting to avoid judicial scrutiny & not even TRY to justify it?!

Senator Jason Pizzo-The right of women alone to determine decisions about their bodies, is not lost on the men of the @FLSenateDems. Follow @LeaderBookFL @SenJanetCruz @TinaPolsky @LoranneAusley @SenatorTaddeo @SenAudrey2eet @LindaStewartFL @loriberman as they lead the fight to protect that right.
