2022 looks to be an optimistic election year for Republicans as they try to overcome the slim majority Democrats have in the US House, especially in District 7 where the GOP could nominate the rising star, state Rep. Anthony Sabatini (R-32) for a crucial seat flip.  However, the race has already become tense more than a year away from election day, as Sabatini claims his opponent US Rep. Stephanie Murphy (D-FL) is a "radical leftist."

Murphy who currently holds the seat has made bipartisanship one of her campaign goals. Murphy has even been awarded the "Abraham Lincoln Leadership for America Award. This distinction honors the Top 20 members of the House of Representatives and top 10 Senators who have demonstrated bipartisan leadership", stated in one of the Congresswoman's press releases.  However, some are starting to think that her "Blue Dog Democrat" identity is only in rhetoric.

The Floridian reached out to Rep. Sabatini where he claimed that she "is a radical leftist" and "votes with Speaker Pelosi 100% of the time in this last year" adding Pelosi is "about as Liberal as any Democrat.  She [Murphy] is Nancy Pelosi."

According to ProPublica, a website that tracks the voting records of current US House members, Murphy's voting record aligns with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) over 90% of the time.

Rep. Sabatini feels that Murphy's middle-of-the-road appeal is simply because "she's a good liar."  Sabatini has also been openly critical of Rep. Murphy's role on the January 6th select committee, calling her a "bad actor" and "one of the dumbest members of Congress."

The Floridian has previously reported that Murphy has fired at Sabatini before, calling him a "Trump-loving Republican" adding that he is an "extremist" along with many other Florida Democrats.  But for a candidate like Sabatini, this is a badge of honor.
