Tackling Turkey Day

Sen. Rick Scott continues to pile on the Turkey Day pain on the Biden administration (not that they care much). Earlier this week, Sen. Scott pointed out how this Thanksgiving was going to be the most expensive meal of its kind in 40 years.

Now Scott is saying that a fourth of Americans are choosing to buy the bare bones necessities instead of having a “Thanksgiving meal with their loved ones.”

He’s right.

There is no end in sight for the soaring consumer prices. From your basic bag of Oreo Double Stuff cookies to just about every single item you find at Publix or wherever you shop, the prices are too damn high!

We spoke to a Publix stock manager just the other day and he told us that there was really nothing Publix could do about the prices. Publix, like everyone else, raises its prices to keep up with manufacturing costs (basic economics).

Gov. Ron DeSantis extended his Thanksgiving well wishes to Floridians:

I want to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving. Two hundred and thirty-three years ago, President George Washington issued a proclamation for “a day of public thanksgiving and prayer” for the American people to “acknowledge with grateful hearts the many signal favors of Almighty God especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness.” We’re blessed to be Americans and to live in the free state of Florida. While our country has faced so many problems in recent years, we have the capacity to solve these problems and to bring about brighter days. The First Lady and I have much to be thankful for: her health; our three children, Madison, Mason, and Mamie; and the trust Floridians have placed in me and my administration to continue our efforts. We will Keep Florida Free. Thank you, and God bless you all.

Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at The Floridian

Bipartisanship Bill Everyone Should Support

Regardless of where you side ideologically in the U.S. Congress, supporting veterans should never be an issue.

Lawmakers owe their very existence to the brave men and women who sacrificed life and limb so that they can pontificate their thoughts and ideas on the floor of an empty House chamber for C-SPAN to capture.

Rep. Brian Mast has introduced another pro-veteran bill that everyone needs to back. READ MORE
