Democrats' Early Christmas Present to Each Other

House Democrats are elated that the Democrat-run January 6 Committee has referred the matter to the Department of Justice for criminal prosecution.

It took 18 months for the panel comprised of House Democrats and two anti-Trump Republicans to conclude that former President Donald Trump should be charged with crimes over the Capitol Riot that ensued on January 6, 2021.

“I thank the @January6thCmte for its thorough investigation into the insurrection and its culprits. I fully back their criminal referrals against Trump and those who aided him. We must uphold and protect our democracy,” stated Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D).

Shortly before the last committee meeting began, retiring Rep. Stephanie Murphy (D) called her committee “bipartisan,” adding that she and her colleagues would be “releasing the truth of what happened so our nation and democracy can rebuild stronger.”

It’s important to note that former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi refused to allow House Republicans to contribute several of its members to the investigation.

Speaker Pelosi and House Democrats instead appointed the two most outspoken anti-Trump lawmakers, Reps. Adam Kinzinger and Liz Cheney to the panel.

Rep. Kinzinger quit  Congress and Rep. Cheney was defeated in an ugly primary election earlier this year.

January 6th Riot was Worse Threat to America Than the Civil War?

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre made jaws drop this week by stating that the Capitol Riot “was the worst attack on our Democracy since the Civil War.”

“What we saw on January 6th was the worst attack on our democracy since the Civil War...Our Democracy continues and remains under threat”

- WH Spox Karine Jean-Pierre

Incredible.

Since the Civil War, there have been many threats to American democracy.

Here are just three threats that Jean-Pierre appears to have forgotten about:

  1. World War II to defeat Nazi Germany
  2. Cold War with the Soviet Union
  3. The 9/11 terrorist attack on American soil
