Steube Discusses Twitter's Censorship of Conservatives

After his purchase of Twitter, billionaire Elon Musk revealed the extent to which conservative voices are subject to censorship. Dubbed "the Twitter Files," the first major bombshell Musk dropped ws how the social media giant actively colluded to suppress the Hunter Biden laptop story.

The second release details the aforementioned silencing of conservatives and the arbitrary limiting of their reach on the site. Rep. Greg Steube (R-FL-17) recently appeared on Newsmax's Rob Schmitt Tonight to discuss the revelations. "Tonight we have evidence to prove what we knew all along – Twitter has been targeting and censoring conservative accounts," he tweets.

Schmitt demonstrates Twitter's dishonesty in saying it does not shadow-ban by ideology, though the opposite appears true.

"They obviously lied," says Steube, adding that it has been only been roughly a year since former CEO Jack Dorsey and other social media heads appeared before the Judiciary Committee for the same subject. As a result, Steube declares in light of this new information Musk has made public, "I can guarantee you they lied to Congress, which is a felony, which is breaking the law, and now when we take the majority in January, and we have the gavels, and we seize these committees, we're going to start making criminal referrals for all that."

Curiously, says Schmitt, Dorsey is encouraging Musk to release this information "without filter." He details how Dorsey apparently "lost control" of Twitter, and thus to what extent Dorsey can truly be held culpable. Moreover, even if Dorsey is relatively innocent, the fact that Twitter as the new public square openly stifles conservative speech is unsettling.

"Just like you were saying," responds Rep. Steube, "we've known all along that this type of thing has been going on, but now we have absolute proof that it is going on."

A recent case even as Musk continues reforming the company affected Congresswoman-elect Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL-13), when Twitter labeled pictures of Luna at a Turning Point USA event "sensitive content."
