Just last week Governor DeSantis (R-FL) was accused of trying to buy votes with his $450 checks for Florida families.  Now, State Rep. Angie Nixon (D-14) is doubling down on her accusations, saying he is hitting a, "new freaking low!"

The DeSantis Administration announced the release of the checks that were for, "These one-time payments of $450 per child are part of [Governor DeSantis] new budget," stated Pushaw.  The letter reads that the checks are a "one-time payment that can be used for anything from buying diapers to fueling up at the pump," according to DeSantis Spokeswoman Christina Pushaw (R-FL).

Democrats were quick to clap back, not only pointing out the hypocrisy of Republicans providing government assistance, but also with accusations that the policy was enacted to, "buy votes."  State Rep. Angie Nixon was joined by State Rep. Anna Eskamani (D-47) in this Twitter war.

Nixon Tweeted, "Has anyone of my Twitter folks received any of the $450 checks DeSantis is trying to buy votes with?"  Nixon has had a long history of bashing DeSantis.  Earlier this year, the representative blatantly called the governor a racist.  Today, Nixon added another Tweet to her extensive record of attacking Ron DeSantis.

Today Nixon wrote, "Wow! [Governor DeSantis] is hitting a new freaking low! He’s sending out checks in the mail in an effort to buy votes in November. You gotta love #FLPol It didn’t work for Trump and we gon make sure it doesn’t work for him."

Nixon then Tweeted an image of the letter, which left out a vast majority of its contents.  The later part of the letter that was left out by Nixon included mentions of high gas prices, which is a jab at the Biden Administration.  Governor DeSantis has arguably passed plenty of legislation in a reactionary manner to Biden Administration policies before.

The largest tax relief bill ever signed was enacted this Summer and will bring down the prices on items like diapers, which have skyrocketed in pricing due to inflation.  Due to the impending economic crisis, the DeSantis Administration has rebranded the concerning economic numbers, "Bidenflation."

It seems however, that the feud between DeSantis and Nixon is more contingent on differences between Conservative and Liberal policy making and not so much these isolated letters that are being sent out in mass to Floridians.
