Since 2017, Florida Senate Minority Leader Lauren Book (D) has made it her mission to implement tax relief on diapers. Back in May, Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) signed this initiative into law, with sales tax on diapers lifted beginning July 1. Additionally, this also covers baby clothes, lasting until June 2023. Despite this, the bill's most prominent cosponsor, Rep. Anna Eskamani (D-42) claims neither she nor Senator Book received credit for the bill in a recent tweet.

"Gotta love all of the Florida Republicans actively campaigning on the Diaper Tax Break myself & @LeaderBookFL have championed for several years. Funny how they never mention us, LOL!" Eskamani tweets, which Book retweeted.

After the much anticipated first and only gubernatorial debate between Gov. Ron DeSantis and Re. Charlie Crist, Sen. Book lashed out at Gov. DeSantis for taking the credit of signing the diapers bill she introduced.

"Last night, Ron DeSantis stood on the debate stage and took credit for the diaper tax break @AnnaForFloridaand I worked hard to pass. It’s time Florida had a Governor who won’t take credit for things they don’t agree with. It’s time we elect

But just as Eskmani, Book, and other Democrats accuse him of not giving them credit for the bill they introduced and later signed into law, it appears as if they had a little bit of a Biden moment.

DeSantis did credit the Democratic legislators for introducing the legislative measure.

While we cannot speak for other Republicans, Governor DeSantis himself has given credit to Book and Eskamani for introducing the bill in the  Florida Legislature. When signing the bill, DeSantis said, "it wasn’t my idea, give them credit. They did a tax holiday for diapers." In fact, Sen. Book is described as "cheering" when DeSantis signed the bill in May.
