As the Biden Administration is about to stop its use of the existing Title 42 measure that has been used to prevent illegal immigration in the U.S., Republican lawmakers and law enforcement are warning that a massive influx of those illegal immigrants is about to occur.
Former President Donald Trump first used Title 42 in 2002, which is part of U.S. law that involves social welfare, civil rights, and public health.
The measure, which the Biden administration has recently used against Venezuelan immigrants to try to keep them from immigrating to the U.S., gives the federal government the power, or the ability to prevent “communicable diseases out of the country.”
President Trump used the provision in the law to prevent the spread of COVID-19 along the border during the height of the pandemic, and President Joe Biden has used it to expel migrants since taking office in 2021.
The National Border Patrol Council (NBPC), the official union of U.S. Border Patrol agents, recently stated that the “record-setting crisis at our border” was going to get worse, and has accused mainstream media outlets of being “mostly propagandists.”
“This record-setting crisis at our border has been raging for 2 years, it's about to get worse, and the only ones covering it consistently are @BillFOXLA and a few others. Journalism is largely dead. MSM are mostly propagandists. The WH lies...and lies..and lies. Pathetic,” stated the union.
In response to the union, Florida Senator Marco Rubio told The Floridian that the Biden administration was nothing more than a “disaster,” and the President is at fault for the border crisis, and has allowed the criminal drug cartels to “thrive.”
“Joe Biden and his team are a disaster. The chaos on the border is his fault. He invited everyone to come when he was a candidate. He said he wasn’t going to build the wall. He said he wouldn’t turn people away. So it shouldn’t come as a surprise that cartels, drug runners, and sex traffickers are thriving under the Biden Administration as a result. Anyone paying attention knew this would happen. Enough is enough,” stated Sen. Rubio in a written statement to The Floridian.
Sen. Rubio is not the only Republican lawmaker to place blame on President Biden for the humanitarian crisis along the border with Mexico.
During a recent interview with The Floridian, Rep. Brian Mast (R) questioned the President’s priorities as it pertained to the border crisis.
"Well, what's more, important than stopping human trafficking? What's more important than stopping thousands of pounds of fentanyl from coming across our border? What's more important than not creating a situation where our Border Patrol agents are in increasingly high danger,” asked Rep. Mast.
Rep. Kat Cammack, who sits on the House Homeland Security Committee and recently confronted Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and demanded his resignation, has also called attention to the President’s “dereliction of duty” over the border crisis.
“POTUS just called the pandemic ‘the worst pandemic ever,’ yet his administration allows immigrants into out country without COVID tests,” questioned Rep. Cammack.
She concluded by expressing that Biden “glazed over immigration, avoided saying ‘crisis’ because “to Pres. Biden, it’s not a crisis at all.”
While other Florida Republican lawmakers like Reps. Byron Donalds, Maria Elvira Salazar, Carlos Gimenez, and Mario Diaz-Balart, have all condemned the Biden administration’s immigration policy, House Democrats have only recently addressed the crush of illegal immigrants as being a crisis along the border.
Border communities are bracing for a historic and crippling wave of illegal immigration that will wash over the border once Title 42 is rescinded.
