Ted Cruz Makes Moves in Florida

It's no secret that Texas Senator Ted Cruz has presidential aspirations.

Sen. Cruz finished 2nd to former President Donald Trump in the 2016 Republican presidential primary race, bolstering his national profile, and putting himself in a position to run again for President of the United States.

With so much uncertainty about whether or not President Trump will run again in 2024, Cruz is making moves around the country just in case Trump decides not to run for reelection.

On Oct 28th, Cruz will hold a rally in Central Florida in support of Republican congressional nominees Scottie Moore and Cory Mills.

Cruz endorsed both men a couple of months ago, a strategic move seen as one of the first plays in positioning himself to run for President.

Just a few months ago, Cruz told The Floridian that if Trump does not run in 2024, he would seek the Republican presidential nomination.

If Trump does not run, expect Gov. Ron DeSantis, Sens. Rick Scott and Marco Rubio, and possibly Miami Mayor Francis Suarez, to jump into the presidential sweepstakes.

Without mentioning any names specifically, a couple of these men also told The Floridian that they would also take a stab a running for President.

Fun times.

Meanwhile, Cory Mills is expected to easily win his Republican-leaning congressional race, while Moore will have a tougher time defeating incumbent Rep. Darren Soto in a Democrat-leaning seat.
