In his bid for reelection, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis releases a touching new campaign ad featuring First Lady Casey DeSantis. Titled "That is Who Ron DeSantis Is," Mrs. DeSantis describes how her husband stood with her as she battles breast cancer since her diagnosis in October 2021.

Accordingly, the YouTube description says "she knows who he is better than anyone, and in this ad, she shares how Governor DeSantis fights for Florida the same way he fights for his family. " Similarly, Mrs. DeSantis also discusses some of DeSantis' background as a Florida native and his Navy service.

"I get asked all the time, "who is Ron DeSantis?" DeSantis begins the ad. She then provides a glimpse into DeSantis' early life, saying, "well he's the kid who grew up right here in Florida, working his tail off, paying his own way through school, then volunteering to serve in the Navy and deploying to Iraq."

From here, she briefly describes their family. "He's the man whom I fell in love with from the moment we met. And he's the dad of three very rambunctious, energetic children. Mamie, our two-year-old little comedian, Madison, our beautiful, sweet five-year-old, and Mason, our four-year-old athlete."

At this point, DeSantis speaks of her battle with breast cancer, her voice noticeably wavering with emotion. "But if you want to know who Ron DeSantis really is, when I was diagnosed with cancer, and I was facing the battle for my life, he was the dad who took care of my children when I couldn't. He was there to pick me off of the ground when I literally could not stand. He was there to fight for me, when I didn't have the strength to fight for myself."

The ad closes with Mrs. DeSantis saying, "That is who Ron DeSantis is," punctuating for emphasis.
