News circulated this week regarding an alleged meeting between Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) and President Donald Trump (R) over the weekend. Governor DeSantis is reported to have requested the meeting to "bury the hatchet." President Trump has now commented on the meeting, saying that he has "the full and enthusiastic support of Governor DeSantis."

The broken friendship between Governor DeSantis and President Trump appeared to be irreparable as both engaged in a bitter rivalry during the 2024 Republican primaries. From name calling to accusations of failing in office, both candidates were far from the friends that voters saw in 2018. However, things appear to have changed over the weekend as both Republican stalwarts have met to discuss the future of the upcoming election.

On Truth Social, President Trump commented on the weekend meeting, sharing that the two "had a great meeting yesterday, arranged by mutual friend Steve Witkoff, at his beautiful Shell Bay Club in Hollywood, Florida."

"The conversation mostly concerned how we would work closely together to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN. Also discussed was the future of Florida, which is FANTASTIC! I greatly appreciate Ron's support in taking back our Country from the Worst President in the History of the United States."

Governor DeSantis is expected to fundraise alongside President Trump, boosting the Republican challengers campaign with donors. Upon suspending his presidential campaign earlier this year, Governor DeSantis endorsed President Trump, but there was no word regarding the support he would provide.

The Florida governor is viewed as a strong candidate in the 2028 election, but the meeting could indicate his candidacy President Trump's Vice President.

President Joe Biden (D) has shared his belief that Florida is "at play" in his 2020 rematch against President Trump, but the state has grown redder with each passing election, and November 5th could prove to be an even bigger win for the Republican challenger.

"November 5th is a BIG DAY!!!" Trump proclaimed on social media.
