TALLAHASSEE, FL—In a Chair-on-Chair fight, GOP Chairman Evan Power slammed Democratic Chairwoman Nikki Fried for saying that President Joe Biden has lowered inflation, questioning the last time she went grocery shopping and accusing her of lying to Floridians.

During a Sunday night CBS Miami appearance, Fried lauded Biden's economy, stating, "When it comes to the economy, Joe Biden has reduced inflation, the prices of food are going down, we are seeing every single month [an] overperforming of jobs being produced."

Fried referenced over 15 million jobs created under Biden and the president's statement that he had "dramatically" reduced inflation rates from 9% to 3% once he took office, though inflation rose during his first year as president—2021—and spiked in June 2022 at 9.1%. By the following summer, it dropped down to 3.2%.

Power disagreed.

"With tone-deaf comments like these, it’s no wonder Florida Democrats are nearly extinct! Nikki Fried is clearly out of touch with the economic realities facing Floridians under Joe Biden’s failed leadership," said Power in a statement. "In Biden's America, the price of gas has jumped more than 50%, real household wages have declined, and the cost of basic goods has skyrocketed."

"With the cost of sugar increasing by 44%, butter up 27%, and bread up 30%, one must wonder when Nikki Fried last visited a grocery store," he continued. "Floridians see through Nikki's lies and will make their voices heard loud and clear this November!"
