Sen. Ashley Moody (R-Fla.) recently took to social media to repost a video of Democratic challenger for Florida’s U.S. Senate seat, Florida House Rep. Angie Nixon (D-Fla.), in an interview where she addresses her views on drag shows.
“This is Angie Nixon,” Sen. Moody wrote on X, quoting the Democratic Socialist’s revelation that she has taken her children to the live performances.
“I don’t understand… There’s no sexualization at a drag show. It’s just people singing and performing,” the Duval County Democrat said in the interview. “I’ve taken my children to drag shows, and it's fun, it's entertainment, it's wholesome entertainment, and it’s nothing wrong.”

Despite not blatantly attacking Rep. Nixon, Sen. Moody took issue with the Florida Democrat exposing her children to the shows, which Florida Republicans have consistently criticized for allegedly being over sexualized performances.
Moody's Attacks Against Nixon
Following the results of the U.S. Senate Primary Election on Aug. 18, 2026, Sen. Moody has hit full throttle in her attacks against her Democratic challenger.
The incumbent senator has gone after Rep. Nixon and the Democratic Socialists of America’s platform, which, according to Sen. Moody, includes defunding the police, withholding funding to the U.S. military, non-citizen voting, and opening up the border to allow open immigration.
Sen. Moody also recently reposted a video of Rep. Nixon protesting in the Florida House Chamber against the Florida House’s vote in favor of the new redistricting map, which was expected to help Republicans flip four congressional seats.
According to Sen. Moody, the Senate race is more than a fight between political parties; it’s a battle between freedom and a radical socialist agenda.
“We have to keep Florida the firewall for freedom,” Sen. Moody has asserted.
