Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.) is calling on Congress to “step up” and help Americans achieve the ‘American Dream,’ urging lawmakers to pass a series of bills to cut ‘red tape’ obstructing small businesses from flourishing.
“The American dream runs on jobs,” Sen. Scott affirmed, demanding that Congress give entrepreneurs “the space they need to create them.” “I’m fighting to immediately pass key bills to remove bureaucratic hurdles that discourage Floridians from opening small businesses.”
The Bills Aimed At Helping Entrepreneurs Succeed
The Florida Senator is highlighting seven bills to ensure that the American Dream is encouraged and not sabotaged:
- Destroying Unnecessary, Misaligned, and Prohibitive (DUMP) Red Tape Act
- Small Business Regulatory Flexibility Improvements Act
- Permitting Transparency and Accountability Act
- Regulatory Decimation Act
- Regulations from the Executive in Need of Scrutiny (REINS) Act
- Expediting Reform and Stopping Regulations (ERASER) Act
- Protecting Access to Credit for Small Business Act
Sen. Scott's Battle Against Democratic Socialists
Amid his efforts to promote entrepreneurship and lift ‘big government’ restrictions, Sen. Scott called out the Democratic Socialists of America, arguing that the coalition is hindering the ‘American Dream.’
“Today’s Democratic Party is unrecognizable. My father was a teamster; Democrats used to believe in what makes America the greatest country in the world. Now, they want to open government-run grocery stores and bankroll illegal aliens,” Sen. Scott argued.
“The American Dream works when the government gets out of the way and lets Americans innovate and succeed,” Sen. Scott stated, calling on lawmakers to “unshackle workers and entrepreneurs” from these restrictions.
Rise Of Democratic Socialists
Sen. Scott’s battle against Democratic Socialists and reinforcement of entrepreneurship comes amid the rise of Democratic Socialism in areas such as Michigan, New York City, and Florida.
Democratic Socialist and Florida House Rep. Angie Nixon (D-Fla.) recently won her Democratic Primary for U.S. Senate. She is now set to face incumbent Sen. Ashley Moody (R-Fla.) on Nov. 3, 2026.
