The Doctor is in?
JUICE—Rep. Charlie Crist (D) has been many things and held many titles during his career in politics—Florida Attorney General, Florida Governor, Republican, Independent, Democrat— but now it appears as if “Chain gang Charlie” is a medical doctor.
Rep. Crist does not like Gov. Ron DeSantis’s pick for Surgeon General and wants him fired because he believes Dr. Joseph Lapado is not fit or qualified for the job.
Gov. DeSantis’s Spokeswoman Christina Pushaw got a chuckle out of Crist’s demand.
“It’s laughable that a career politician considers himself enough of a medical expert to assert that a Harvard-trained physician – who has published copious peer reviewed research on diseases, taught at one of the top medical schools of the world (UCLA), and has extensive experience treating hospitalized patients at the prestigious UCLA Health system in Lost Angeles – is somehow unqualified to be the surgeon general of our state.”
