Nikki Fried Poses With White Man in “Black Face” (Brown) Mask

An Orlando-area progressive group, Allianza Center, is up in arms over a story The Floridian posted about AG Commissioner Nikki Fried posing with a guy wearing a mask depicting a Hispanic farmer as being dark-skinned and apparently having Afro-Latino features.

The group’s leader took issue and accused us of filing a racist story, and asked us to retract.

That's not going to happen.

The mask the group used was clearly created with the intention of depicting a Hispanic farmer with a brown skin tone. The person wearing the mask has very light-skinned, so why not make the mask match his skin tone?
