It's Just Miami-Dade, as Usual
Politics in Miami-Dade County is never business as usual.
It seems as if this county’s usual political cronyism ends where the county meets the state.
Apparently, Miami-Dade County Commission Chairman Oliver G. Gilbert, III, has decided to only hand out committee chairmanships to commissioners who don’t have a state-level legislative resumé.

Accusing DeSantis of ‘Censorship’
Gov. Ron DeSantis believes he is doing the right thing with every stroke of his pen.
While most Floridians appear to approve of this condemnation of Critical Race Theory (CRT) and of his support of parental rights (he won reelection by 20 percentage points), there are those like Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz and State Sen. Shevrin Jones who believe his policies are a detriment to his constituents.
Rep. Wasserman Schultz accused Gov. DeSantis of “censorship” for banning books in schools that “depict sexual conduct, sexual battery, bestiality, or sadomasochistic abuse.”
“In Florida, our parents have every right to be involved in their child’s education. We are not going to let politicians deny parents the right to know what is being taught in our schools. I’m proud to sign this legislation that ensures curriculum transparency.”—Gov. Ron DeSantis

Byron Donalds-78 years ago the Auschwitz extermination camp was liberated. Today on International Holocaust Remembrance Day, #WeRemember the six million Jewish men, women, and children murdered and recommit to countering antisemitism. We must NEVER allow these atrocities to happen again.
Congressman Jared Moskowitz-On the 78th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, we are again reminded that antisemitism is a plague that infects our world. During a peaceful shabbat at a synagogue, a Palestinian terrorist targeted & gunned down 8 Israeli citizens. I today & every day stand with Israel.
Nick DiCeglie-There are still victims of the Holocaust alive today who tell the harrowing and wretched story of hate they endured. It is up to us to carry on their memory and ensure future generations
Rep. Matt Gaetz-@SecDef’s role isn’t to make sure that our research and development contracts are given out to people of the right race. He's supposed to be focused on keeping the nation safe. Austin must prioritize winning wars, not winning applause from liberals.
