The Speaker Drama in DC Continues

Call it what you want, but the ongoing Republican stalemate to elect the next Speaker of the House Representatives is nothing more than a political Sh— show that has gone from being amusing to watch, to becoming outright annoying.

On a personal note, I don’t think I have ever, ever, watched so much CSPAN in my life.

The announcing of votes reminded me of the 1980s movie “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.”

“Bueller. Bueller. Bueller?”

When Rep. Byron Donalds’ name was thrown into the Speaker vote mix, heads exploded. Now, Rep. Matt Gaetz has stepped it up and nominated former President Donald Trump to be Speaker of the House.

Could Trump become Speaker?

Can you imagine if Republicans vote him in?

Anyone Republican who votes against a Trump nomination would be dead on arrival during their reelection bid in 2024. Trump would make sure of that.READ MORE

2023 Legislative Session

The Republican supermajority in the legislature will offer up everything DeSantis asks for.

DeSantis has a mandate, and that mandate will be met.

One issue that DeSantis will tackle is the ongoing problem of ridiculously high drug prices.

DeSantis has addressed his concern about PBMs and prescription drug prices in the past.

This issue will be front and center in the coming months. If legislators and DeSantis hit a home run with this issue, expect everything else to fall into place. READ MORE
