Buying Oil From a Murderer

With Russia invading Ukraine and making the price at the pump skyrocket across the world, President Joe Biden has decided to reach out to one of the most murderous and criminal regimes for help—Dictator Nicolas Maduro and his crime family in Venezuela.

Forget about letting the U.S. tap into its energy deposits. That would be too easy.

President Biden instead is looking for others to sell us oil, even those who have gallons of blood on their hands, as does Maduro in Venezuela.

Republicans are up in arms about it, as you can imagine, as are most Democrats, including gubernatorial candidate Annette Taddeo (D).

Her Democratic opponent, Rep. Charlie Crist, has thanked Biden for reaching out to Maduro.

Remember, this is the same Maduro who famously said that the very dead Hugo Chavez came to him in form of a bird and spoke sweet nothings in his ear. True story.

Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart (R), one of the U.S. lawmakers at the tip of the foreign policy spear, railed against the Biden administration’s decision to deal with Venezuela.

HOLD THE PRESSES!

Someone wake Joe up and tell him that because Venezuela is so indebted to Russia, buying oil from them is like buying oil straight from Putin. Russia controls a significant amount of Venezuela’s oil production

“Buying blood oil from Russia, Iran, and Venezuela is reckless, irresponsible, and outright dangerous for U.S. national security.”-Rep. Mario Diaz Balart

Progressive Democrats vow to continue the fight against the Republican push to "hurt" LGBTQ students when they passed the Parental Rights in Education bill.

Lauren Book-Congratulations to @ReverendRos on tonight’s overwhelming victory! Dr. Osgood will be a wonderful addition to our @FLSenateDems & a strong fighter for Floridians as we continue to battle against the dangerous, hyper-partisan GOP agenda in Tallahassee.

Ron DeSantis-The Biden Administration needs to listen to Americans & increase domestic energy instead of relying on authoritarian regimes to fuel our country. Gas prices are out of control & people are getting hammered at the pump. The time is now to make America energy independent - again.

Congressman Charlie Crist-Following an alarming rise in threats against HBCUs, I joined with my colleagues this evening to condemn those who use fear & racially motivated violence to keep students from receiving a quality education. These awful acts have no place in our country.

U.S. Rep. Stephanie Murphy-Recent threats of violence made against Historically Black Colleges and Universities have too much history behind them to be dismissed. Proud Congress just passed a bipartisan bill to reaffirm our support for HBCUs & their students.

Rep. Darren Soto-Firefighters work day & night to keep #FL9 safe. Proud to host our local heroes in DC today to discuss how the #AmericanRescuePlan helped keep them on the job, provided ~$3M in SAFER grants for the district, protected them from cancer, and improved public safety in Central FL.

Rep. Carlos G Smith-Here we are again with the anti-immigrant #SB1808 on the House floor. Rep. @Johnfsnyder repeatedly claims unaccompanied minors are not impacted. Unfortunately, with no definition of "unlawfully present" in the bill, you're wrong. They are impacted!

Debbie Mayfield-Happy #InternationalWomensDay ! Never underestimate the power of a woman. @Kathleen4SWFL @kellistargel
