Mask Mandate on Planes is Over

No sooner than I arrived at Miami International Airport to jump on a flight to Tallahassee Monday night, an American Airlines Admirals Club employee told me that she had just received an email notifying all American employees that the Biden travel mask mandate was put to bed.

American Airlines made wearing a mask onboard flights strictly optional after a Florida federal judge squashed the mandate.

Onboard my flight, Sen. Shevrin Jones was seen maskless as was Rep. Tom Fabricio.

Other Miami legislators like Reps. Dotie Joseph and Felicia Robinson were wearing their masks on board, which is ok.

The jubilation of not having to wear a mask was short-lived after a mechanical issue on the plane delayed the flight for an hour.

Now, it’s time to address the redistricting special session that will greatly impact the upcoming midterm election.

Speaking of Elections…

Rep. Carlos G Smith-Heading back to Tally! #DeSantis is demanding we ELIMINATE Black majority congressional districts and make a mockery of Florida’s constitution he claims to love.

Shevrin “Shev” Jones-With @GovRonDeSantis latest actions to dilute Black & Brown districts in FL, Black leaders (& @Mike_Grieco) came together today to make it clear that it won’t happen on our watch. We know what racism and suppression looks like, and FL fits BOTH. Let our people VOTE!

Dan Daley-I don’t know what’s more concerning:

1. A majority of the Legislature doesn’t recognize property insurance crisis is significant enough to call for a Special Session.

Or

2. Once a poll was called 68 House Republicans didn’t even bother to vote at all. All House Dems voted yes.

Felicia Robinson-Just this weekend I have received over 800 emails from constituents vocalizing their disappointed by Governors DeSantis’ recent veto of the Congressional Legislative Districts.

I hear you ! WE HEAR YOU ! I am taking a stand with you . Elected should STAND UP FOR WHAT IS RIGHT!
