Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) went on a Twitter tirade against China and the media’s praise of the Communist regime’s handling of the Coronavirus response in comparison to the United States. In most cases, the Senator was pointing out the fact that the media was fawning over China’s decision to be more authoritarian (naturally) in terms of public health (more lockdowns, more restrictions) compared to former President Trump’s (R) approach of balancing liberty and safety.

“The 2020/2021 media narrative that #China outperformed the Trump Administration on Covid isn’t doing well in 2022”

The tweet above includes a link to a New York Times article declaring how China “Beat the Virus” even though they are still facing problems.

Later, Rubio tweeted alongside another article, this time from The Washington Post, demonstrating the fact that Shanghai is under yet another lockdown 2 years after the initial beginning of the pandemic.

“#China did such a great job on Covid that 2 years after the pandemic began they have forced a city of 25 million people into total lockdown”

And then finally, Rubio ironically points out the fact that there can be no opposition to the lockdowns in China, but when those in the U.S. opposed the lockdowns, the media called them irrational.

“Remember when they told us that the opposition to lockdowns in America was because of those crazy Conservatives? So then who is behind the opposition to lockdowns in #China?”
