Weston—Florida U.S. Senator Marco Rubio held a roundtable with members of the Colombian-American community where he shined a light on the upcoming elections in Colombia where a Marxist candidate could very well become the next president of that country, and how leftists look to destroy the U.S.

Shortly after the roundtable discussion, Sen. Rubio spoke to The Floridian about his Senate reelection race against Rep. Val Demings, who he has labeled a radical leftist.

Rubio started off by saying that Rep. Demings has labeled herself a Leftist because she has voted in line with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on every single bill. Demings has a 100% voting record with Pelosi and about a 93% voting record with Progressive House Democrats.

“She voted with her 100% of the time,  and she's never once broken from Nancy Pelosi,” said Rubio.

Rubio also went on to say that Demings would rubber-stamp Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer’s entire Progressive agenda just like she supported Speaker Pelosi’s agenda.

“I don't understand why a system of ideology that has failed everywhere in the world and it's been tried that has only brought misery and suffering and exiled refugees,” said Rubio on Socialism. “Why would ever want any element of that to be part of our politics here? It's always existed. There's always been people out there that believe in these things and want to ruin this country.”

Rubio continued by warning that the current state of political Socialism in the U.S. will begin to percolate down into local and state-level elections, and as the COVID pandemic taught Americans, local government will continue to be a threat to American liberties.

“You're gonna see it in County Commission and city races. Because one of the things that the pandemic taught us is that local government has a lot of power and have the power to ruin your life. If it's in the hands. Of the wrong people,” concluded Rubio.
