Florida Compared to California and New York?

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Floridians, like other Americans, endure great physical, mental, and economic hardships after the state and national economies all but came to a screeching halt. The Florida economy, like other state economies, was on the ropes.

Lockdowns crippled states, but in Florida, Gov. Ron DeSantis limited the damage by keeping the state relatively open, receiving that praise from both Republicans and Democrats for doing so.

Now, as Bidenflation continues to grip the nation, the cost of living has skyrocketed nationwide, and according to gubernatorial candidates AG Commissioner Nikki Fried and Rep. Charlie Crist, it’s all Gov. DeSantis’s fault that Floridians are struggling to pay the bills, let alone put food on the table.

Commissioner Fried blames the rise in monthly rents in the state on DeSantis’s policies, not the fact that supply and demand for housing in Florida are on a record pace and housing inventories are scarce.

Rep. Crist echoed Fried and channeled former President Donald Trump by saying that he wanted to make “Florida affordable again,” blaming DeSantis for the housing issue and the rise in property taxes.
