Senate President Wilton Simpson (R-FL) who is also running for Agricultural Commissioner in the 2022 midterm election, has just been endorsed by Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL).
President Simpson has been under heavy scrutiny since veteran Chuck Nadd (R-FL) entered the Agricultural Commissioner race. Over the weekend Nadd questioned Simpson's legislative stances that he believes stand against, "conservative values."
Despite this, the ever-popular Gov.DeSantis issued his endorsement for Simpson, stating, "For Commissioner of Agriculture, I am supporting Wilton Simpson, who has helped pass major reform for election integrity, choice in education, big tech censorship and law enforcement recruitment."
Simpson responded to the endorsement with nothing but praise for the Florida governor, "Our great Governor has led our state through these unprecedented times with a focus on our hardworking families and businesses. Together, we helped keep Florida free and prosperous, and I am honored to have his support."
This is not Simpson's first run-in with renowned endorsements backing his campaign. The state senator has also received the support of 59 Florida Sheriffs and former President Donald Trump (R-FL).
DeSantis's endorsement is just as valuable as former President Donald Trump's.
Just last Friday in Miami, Simpson stood with DeSantis during a bill signing press conference for the "Stop the Woke" act, where DeSantis praised Simpson's efforts of promoting the Florida First agenda.
