NO MAS TEQUILA!

Whenever an immigration bill is introduced in the U.S. Congress that contains the words “comprehensive” or illudes to being "comprehensive," pro-legal immigration activists take pause.

But Rep. Maria Elvira Salazar’s recently file “Dignity Act” is a massive piece of legislation that looks to first secure the border, a move that has never been used in past immigration legislation.

The bill will surely be criticized, but it appears to be a good starting point to fix the disastrous and current immigration system. Meanwhile, illegal immigrants continue to stream across the southern border with Mexico. READ MORE

Federal Government Overreach in DeSantis’s Florida

The Family Law Section of The Florida Bar has concerns with House Bill 1395.

“In regard to alimony, the Section does not feel that it is reasonable or necessary to automatically reduce or terminate existing awards of alimony that were a result of a negotiated Agreement or determination of the court, as this will do irreparable damage to alimony recipients by changing the rules after the entry of the Final Judgment. We continue to work with the sponsors of the legislation on ways to improve Florida’s current system of alimony.

“Moreover, we have significant concerns about the automatic presumption of timesharing that is in HB 1395. It is paramount for the well-being of every child who is the subject of a timesharing dispute, that their case be considered based on their unique set of circumstances. The fact is, the ability of a parent to provide for a child can differ greatly and should be considered in the determination of timesharing agreements. With the best interest of children in mind, The Family Law Section of The Florida Bar must be opposed to HB 1395 as it stands.”

Running…

State Representative Tommy Gregory announced he will run for re-election in the region he has represented the last four years, now numbered House District 72.

“It has been an honor to represent Manatee County, and I look forward to continue representing them and this region,” said Tommy Gregory. “We’ve worked hard in the Florida Legislature to be a voice for our community’s strong, conservative values and will continue to do so as we work with Gov. DeSantis in the Free State of Florida.

Rep. Carlos G Smith-#DeSantis is pushing bills to effectively censor honest conversations and discussion he doesn’t like. Talking about LGBTQ people is NOT dangerous and censorship is not what happens in so-called “free states''. It’s what happens under authortiatian regimes.

Senator Lori Berman-Republicans want to ban books. They want to whitewash American history. They want to censor conversations about race in school and the workplace. Now, they want to try and erase the LGBTQ identities of students.

Florida isn’t free under their leadership. It’s authoritarian.

Joe Harding-Things that matter to Americans and @POTUS

is silent on:

- Rising gas prices

- empty shelves

- affordable housing

- not starting another war

What is our president worried about? He is worried about my bill that empowers parents. He is worried about @GovRonDeSantis

. Red wave.

Rep. Anna V. Eskamani U-LOL. @amazon

will be trying to get a tax break in our Ways & Means Committee tomorrow. Amazon does not need a tax break! Everyday people are the ones who need a break!

Lauren Book-Thank you @jvellana

for your bravery and courage in sharing. No one should become a victim of sexual deepfakes or cyber trafficking - together, we’re working to make things different.

Rep. Bryan Ávila-Many thanks to the Local Administration & Veterans Affairs Subcommittee for their unanimous support of HB 1411 Floating Solar Facilities. My bill will allow the use of this relatively new concept to efficiently produce renewable energy in our great state.
