*NoteThe Floridian Publisher Javier Manjarres was inside the House Chamber during the riot. He is pictured above huddled with other members of the media, congressional staffers. This image was taken just as the tear gas was deployed in the Rotunda. Manjarres, along with, Reps. Val Demings, Veronica Escobar, Sheila Jackson Lee, and at least 15 other Democrat lawmakers (all maskless except for Rep. Jackson Lee) were evacuated about 20 minutes later.

"There was no way I was going to put on that dopey gas mask and run the risk of messing up my perfectly combed hair. It was not going to happen," said Manjarres.

January 6, 2021

The anniversary of the January 6th riot came to pass, and as expected, both Republicans and Democrats had their talking points queued up for everyone to hear.

Democrats made it all about how former President Donald Trump planned the “insurrection” and how Republican legislators were complicit in the criminal actions of that day.

This was expected as the Capitol riot polls well for Democrats.

Democrats want to milk the riot as long as they can, and will drag out the Select Committee to better their chances of not getting completely destroyed in the 2022 midterm elections.

Republicans were out pushing the narrative that Democrats using the ongoing House investigation as a Hail Mary pass to preserve their majority in Congress.

But as more and more House Democrats continue to quit their jobs in Washington, it looks as if Republicans are in for a huge win this November.

Yes, President Trump canceled his Jan 6 press conference. And No, Gov. Ron DeSantis did not organize a press conference because Trump canceled his, as some media types have speculated.

Nikki Fried COVID Test Stockpile Claim Proven Right

During the aforementioned press conference, The Floridian asked Gov. Ron DeSantis if he could confirm Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried’s claim that the state had let a stockpile of COVID tests expire in some warehouse.

Gov. DeSantis punted the question over to Kevin Guthrie, who heads the Department of Emergency Management.

Guthrie confirmed that some “800,000 and a 1,000,000 test kits, Abbott rapid test kits in our warehouse that did expire.”

Guthrie and DeSantis both said that the kits expired because the demand for testing was not there prior to Commissioner Fried’s claim in late December.
