Republican George Moraitis, who's running in Florida’s 23rd Congressional District, announced in a press release Wednesday that his congressional campaign has raised more than $119,000 during the second quarter (Q2) of the year.
According to the release, Moraitis's $379,403 in fundraising from more than 330 individual donors leads his Republican opponents, which includes $360,000 cash on hand.
“I continue to be humbled by the amount of support our campaign is receiving from the voters in CD 23,” Moraitis said in a release. “The voters we have talked to are ready for a voice in Washington that represents the needs of the district rather than the needs of special interest lobbyists and partisan progressive interests.”
Moraitis, who launched his campaign in March, is running against Democratic U.S. Rep. Jared Moskowitz. The district covers parts of Broward County and southern Palm Beach County.
In 2024, Moskowitz defeated Republican Joe Kaufman in CD 23 by just under five points. He also won by a similar margin over Republican Joe Budd in 2022.
Kaufman is rechallenging Moskowitz again in 2026, which includes Moraitis and three other GOP candidates. Democratic candidate Oliver Larkin is also challenging Moskowitz, who has represented the district since 2023.
"As someone who has dedicated his life to public service, George is the perfect candidate to take on the Democrat incumbent and win this seat for Republicans in 2026," the release said.
Moraitis is also a "decorated military veteran, former State Representative, and trusted conservative leader," it mentioned.
The GOP hopeful represented parts of Broward and Palm Beach counties in House District 91 from 2010 to 2012 and House District 93 from 2012 to 2018.
Born in Fort Lauderdale, Moraitis graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy and served in the United States Navy. He later started a law career and is the father of two daughters.
"George is known for delivering real results and finding common ground to get things done," the release said. "Now, he’s running to bring that same leadership to Washington—ready to champion a bold, conservative agenda and stand up for the values that matter to Florida families."
The CD 23 general election is on Nov. 3, 2026
