To Defund the Police, or not Defund the Police. That is the Question.

Senatorial candidate and Rep. Val Demings appears to be fuming mad about being accused of wanting to defund the police.

Who would say such a thing?

Senator Marco Rubio.

Rep. Demings came out swinging against the allegation, saying that it was “ridiculous” because she was the police.

The former Chief of Police for the City of Orlando did say that the suggestion of defunding the police by the Minneapolis City Council after the George Floyd murder was “thoughtful.” READ MORE

And whether the rumors are true or not, Florida Democrats have started to capitalize on the swirling reports regarding Trump and DeSantis.

Over the weekend, the Democratic senatorial hopeful introduced a bill that would push for internet freedom in the island. However, the Rubio campaign, which has often criticized Demings for being silent regarding foreign policy, is now accusing Demings of having copied “Rubio’s strong proposals to help the people of Cuba… one year late.”

Eskamani (D), who’s running for reelection, began the week by mobilizing a protest for reproductive rights and calling for voters to become more engaged in state and local elections.

"Citadel Headquarters Relocates to Miami," by The Floridian's Daniel Molina--Florida continues to attract businesses as it will now be the destination of Citadel, a $51 billion hedge fund founded by billionaire investor Ken Griffin. Initially located in Chicago, Griffin made the announcement to employees, sharing that the global headquarters would be moving from Chicago to Miami. With Citadel moving to Miami, it now becomes the latest investment firm to move to Florida as the pandemic ensues.
