LGBTQ Community is Being Erased?

His Republican detractors call him an outspoken extremist and self-serving activist, who likes to exploit the gay community for personal gain and promotes the debunked "Don't Say Gay' narrative.

Rep. Carlos Guillermo Smith maybe everything that he is accused of being, but his efforts of calling attention to what he believes are injustices made to the LGBTQ community, should be praised, sort of.

Rep. Smith defends Socialism. This we know. We have all seen the video of him defending Socialism on the floor of the Florida House of Representatives.

We have all seen him rail against Gov. Ron DeSantis's overall “Florida First” agenda, even though he voted for the “Freedom First” state budget.

But while Smith’s activism is noble, many of the assertions and accusations he makes are asinine.

Take for instance his recent statement that the so-called “Don’t Say Gay” bill or Parental Rights in Education bill, which Gov. DeSantis signed into law, is shoving “LGBTQ students back into the closet and erase our community from public schools.”

Really Carlitos?

The measure DeSantis signed into law prohibits teachers from indoctrinating children K to 3. That’s it.

Here is the text of how the bill reads:

"Classroom instruction by school personnel or third parties on sexual orientation or gender identity may not occur in kindergarten through grade 3 or in a manner that is not age-appropriate or developmentally appropriate for students in accordance with state standards."

On the Campaign Trail..

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene is coming to Central Florida to campaign for Rep. Anthony Sabatini as he continues to struggle in his congressional campaign against Cory Mills in FL CD 7.

Rep. Greene, who has endorsed Rep. Sabatini, will try to rally voters into supporting the firebrand legislators, even though the latest poll shows him trailing Mills by 16 points.

What poll?

Well, one very interested member of Congress (we will not disclose his or her name) has shared independent poll results with The Floridian that shows Sabatini having dropped 4 points in the past week alone.

Results of the poll:

Cory Mills: 34%

Anthony Sabatini: 18%

Erika Benfield: 4%

Brady Duke: 13%

Ted Edwards: 4%

Russell Roberts: 3%

Al Santos: 1%

Scott Sturgill: 3%

Undecided: 20%

Sabatini is losing big against Mills due to the $1.2 million independent expenditure (more money is expected to be spent) that has landed on Sabatini's head this past week.

A Pro-Trump Super PAC, American Liberty Action PAC, is responsible for the barrage of negative ads against Sabatini. READ MORE
