Florida Democratic Insurrection?

Democrats called the January 6th riot in Washington, D.C. an insurrection. Now, Florida Republican lawmakers are returning the favor and calling this week’s kinda lame sit-in on the House Floor in Tallahassee another insurrection.

In case you didn’t know, a group of Democratic lawmakers, mainly the Black caucus, interrupted the special session on redistricting by protesting by way of a sit-in.

This is the same group that just two days prior, held an event on the steps of the old Capitol and called Gov. Ron DeSantis a racist for wanting race-neutral congressional districts.

Of course, Republicans pushed back on the racist allegations made against DeSantis, including Rep. Randy Fine, who called Rep. Angie Nixon “an idiot.”

“They think we are all racists. Nixon is an idiot, only an idiot would say using racism to redistrict is good,” said Rep. Fine in an interview with The Floridian. READ MORE

OH Carlitos, you are ‘G’ not ‘LGBTQ’

Rep. Fine called out Rep. Carlos Guillermo Smith, accusing him of exploitation.

Rep. Angie Nixon-Help me get the #DontSayBlack Governor #DeSantisDestroysFlorida trending due to his unconstitutional and illegally drawn map that slashes FL’s Black congressional representation in half! #Disney was a distraction but illustrates his bullying. #StopTheBlackAttack #FairDistricts

Representative Travaris McCurdy-I’m calling on all of my colleagues in the legislature to VETO the Governor’s map next week in Tallahassee and do the job we raised our hands and took an oath to do. Redistricting maps should be proposed by the legislative branch not the executive

Rep. Carlos G Smith-Florida Republicans just trampled the state constitution and illegally eliminated Black Congressional districts in an authoritarian move to consolidate power.

But don’t worry about that. They want you to be very very upset @FLHouseDems violated decorum with a sit-in.

Blaise Ingoglia -I think we need a 4/21 committee.
