Republican Hiccup in Florida?

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is "the heavy" in Florida and is beloved by Floridians for his in-your-face governing against unconstitutional mandates and against those individuals (Biden and Fauci) who are trying to hamstring freedoms and liberties.

As he said, "Florida is the freest state in America."

But while Republican voters appear to be completely supportive of Gov. DeSantis, there is a very real fissure between the governor and leaders in the Florida Legislature.

Florida Speaker Chris Sprowls and Senate President Wilton Simpson have yet to send DeSantis their congressional redistricting maps for signing because they know he will veto them.

Speaker Sprowls and President Simpson are said to be negotiating with the Executive Office and looking to offer up a map that comes close to the map the governor submitted.

Like President Donald Trump, who is arguable the Republican kingmaker in the Republican universe, DeSantis is the heavyweight champ in Florida.
