Democratic Election Night Horror Show

Early voting has started across Florida and there is a sense that Election Night could prove to be an even more cataclysmic event for Florida Democrats. Yesterday, as I roamed the halls of Broward Health, several Nurses, two of them registered Democrats(African-American) asked me whether I saw the debate between Gov. Ron DeSantis and Charlie Crist.

One nurse, who said she occasionally voted, laughed when she repeated Gov. DeSantis calling Crist a “worn-out old donkey.”

She said, “it’s over, DeSantis is going to win.”

The nurses n said that they were voting for DeSantis because of how he handled the pandemic. These nurses did not support the idea of mask mandates and lockdowns.

Both women believe that Crist was for lockdowns while DeSantis was not. They were right.

Moving on to the Senate race between Sen. Marco Rubio and Rep. Val Demings. Rep. Demings’ local TV ads appear to focus on her opposition to fellow Democratic House members who support defunding police, and not attacking Rubio.

It's not going well for Demings as the latest poll shows Sen. Rubio up by double-digits.

The same sense of desperation can be felt around the state, especially in the state house race between Susan Plasencia (R) and incumbent State Rep. Carlos Guillermo Smith (D).

The race is considered a toss-up, and Rep. Smith seems a little worried about his chances of winning reelection.

In looking at his reelection efforts, Smith is all hands on deck and comes off as desperate to paint Plasencia as a radical pro-Lifer and hater of all things gay.

Smith has even updated his Twitter profile by adding his pronouns as if that was going to solidify his LGBTQ base of support.

Smith took down his “LatinX” labeling after the majority of Latinos dismissed the bogus moniker.

Moreover, to see how momentum is firmly behind Republicans, just compare any of the campaign events and rallies around the state between competing Republican and Democratic candidates.

Because Republican voters are emboldened by DeSantis, it is helping down-ballot candidates across the state.

Crist, who manages to put together events with just a couple of dozen supporters, has failed to live up to the hype Democrats built up prior to the primary election against Nikki Fried.

In my opinion, Fried would have excited Democrats better than Crist and at least given them a chance of winning.

But let me be clear. Democrats are still going to lose. The question is, by how much are Democrats going to lose, and how many seats both at the state and federal level will they concede?

Oh, and adding insult to an already losing election cycle, Crist's former colleagues have all signed a letter supporting DeSantis.

Ballot Box Drama in Broward

The embattled Broward Supervisor of Elections could once again be forced to tighten up its ship.

The Floridian posted a video of one woman dropping off multiple ballots into one of those controversial drop boxes in Broward County.

The box was being supervised by a worker, but that worker does not appear to be paying attention to how many ballots were being deposited by a single woman.

The limit is three ballots per person, with those ballots having to be from three “immediate family” members. In the video, who is paying attention to the number of ballots deposited and verifying that they are from family members? No one. READ MORE

Sharing the ad on social media, Taddeo shared that she’s gained their support because she puts “country above party.”

"Gimenez Calls for Natural Gas Production" by The Floridian's Grayson Bakich—The Biden Administration's war on fossil fuels in the name of environmentalism has garnered strong criticism from Republicans. In light of continued emptying of the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, the ability of the United States to remain energy independent is of serious concern. Recently, Rep. Carlos Gimenez (R-FL-26) appeared on Fox News' Evening Edit to discuss the balance between American energy independence and environmental integrity.

Following the data release, Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) gave a plea to the nation including his solution to fix the problem.

It's no secret that DeSantis is a sharp critic of Fauci, and as Fauci readies himself for retirement, DeSantis warns that Fauci is "gaslighting" the country.
