The DeSantis administration's statewide war on drugs continues as Attorney General Ashley Moody has announced that 21 drug traffickers, many with a violent past, were arrested in Operation Checkmate.
AG Moody condemned the special interested groups that call for lighter sentences for drug traffickers because they aren’t “associated with violent crime.”
Moody called that mindset “a farce that's a fallacy.”
“Today’s operation and announcement demonstrate that the arrests of 21 individuals many of them had violent histories, convicted felons. They need to be pursued and taken out of our community,” said Moody.
