Clinging to Your Guns and Your Bibles

The recent Senate gun proposal is expected to pass, if and when it is introduced. But while gun-control activists, who have been calling for an across-the-board ban on guns, are questionably praising the bipartisan effort, the move is considered a big “red flag” to Republicans and gun rights proponents.

The new strategy Democrats and gun control advocates are using is to incrementally pass legislation that would lead to their ultimate goal of banning guns.

This is the nightmare gun rights activists fear on a daily basis.

Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz recently fueled that argument when she said that this Senate bipartisan proposal was “just the beginning.” READ MORE

Charlie Crist Continues on Pathway Victory

The aforementioned Rep. Wasserman Schultz recently referred to Rep. Crist as a ”principled” legislator (Republicans fell over laughing in disagreement) when she endorsed his gubernatorial campaign, and now his former opponent in the Democratic gubernatorial sweepstakes, Sen. Debbie Wasserman Schultz praised the 10 Senate Republicans who offered up a gun violence compromise, but at the same time warned that gun rights “extremists” would now target them and the entire U.S. Congress for doing so, adding that the proposal was “just the beginning” to stricter gun control.

"Senators Announce Bipartisan Gun Proposal That Excludes Assault Weapon Ban" by The Floridian's —Sunday, members of the Senate announced a bipartisan agreement on gun legislation. The proposal was announced by lawmakers such as Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX), Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ), Sen. Cory Booker (D-NY), Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME), Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), Sen. According to his staff’s press release, “The program will help caregivers of retired police dogs pay for veterinary costs of the dogs…The Care for Retired Police Dogs Program will provide a reimbursement of up to $1,500 of the annual veterinary costs associated with caring for a retired police dog. This includes wellness checks, vaccinations, parasite prevention treatments, medications, and emergency care for the animals.”
