Corcoran Packs up his books and crayons

Florida’s Education czar Richard Corcoran is taking his Star Wars lunch box and signing himself out early from school this year, and it appears as if State Senator Manny Diaz will be tapped to replace him.

Yea, there are other names floating around, but The Floridian has recently learned (4 weeks ago) that this position is Sen. Diaz’s to lose.

Draw me a map already

The Florida Legislature has um, drawn a line in the political sand with Gov. Ron DeSantis over congressional redistricting maps.

Gov. DeSantis has countered the legislature’s rejection of his maps by threatening to veto their maps, leaving the Governor no other choice but to call for a showdown at the OK Corral.

DeSantis is expected to call for a special legislative session to once and for all, address the redistricting in pass.
