The “controversial” Parental Rights in Education bill has now been signed into law, and Florida Democrats are beside themselves and threatening legal action.
This was expected.
Gov. Ron DeSantis and Lt. Gov. Jeanette Nuñez, parents to at least half a dozen rugrats, have been in lockstep on this issue since it was first introduced in Florida Legislature by Sen. Dennis Baxley and Rep. Joe Harding.
DeSantis & Co. were quick to dismiss all of the “false narratives” like calling it the “Don’t Say Gay” bill being propagated by Progressives like Rep. Carlos “Carlitos” Guillermo Smith.
“Parental Rights in Education empowers Florida’s parents and safeguards our children. Throughout this legislative session, this bill has been maliciously maligned by those who prefer slogans and sound bites over substance and common sense,” stated Lt. Gov. Jeanette Nuñez. Fortunately, @GovRonDeSantis and I believe that parents should have a say. We will not back down to woke corporations and their same tired tactics that are steeped in hypocrisy. As a mother of three, I am committed to protecting the rights of parents.”
While Lt. Gov. Nuñez has done the heaviest lift of any Lt. Governor in Florida. history, how long will she stay by DeSantis’s side?
Many speculate that Nuñez will seek to run for governor once DeSantis is termed out of office or runs for higher office.
Maybe Nunez has congressional aspirations?
Now, we will neither confirm nor deny that Nuñez is on our flight to Washington, D.C. today, but let me just say that the woman sitting just in front of us looks and sounds like Nuñez, and the typical Cuban-American/Miami way of talking with the hands could be a dead giveaway. Dale! (Cuban saying. We are not Cuban.)
Senate President Wilton Simpson is running for Agriculture Commissioner this year and by looking at his latest endorsements, Simpson is looking like Florida's political Samson—strong like bull.
President Simpson has been able to garner the support from another president, this one goes by the name Donald Trump. In addition, the NRA, the Florida Chamber, and scores of law enforcement officer have backed the egg farmer's political play in replacing current AG Commissioner Nikki Fried.
Congressman Charlie Crist-Justice Clarence Thomas should immediately recuse himself from anything involving Jan. 6. If he fails to, the Chief Justice must take action. We are a democracy, not an autocracy. Free and fair elections must be protected at all costs.
Debbie Wasserman Schultz-Thrilled to see the historic #Negev_Summit where the US, Israel, Arab, and Gulf states are rejecting terrorism and committing to cooperation. This is what normalization looks like.
Ron DeSantis-In Florida, we affirm the fundamental role that parents have in the education, health and development of their children.
Rep. Anna V. Eskamani -Disney needs to stop giving to the candidates and elected officials (and their affiliated organizations) who promote disinformation and discrimination. Their political funding decisions over the years helped to create and pass the very bill/law they now oppose.
Shevrin “Shev” Jones- History will hold everyone of us accountable, good or bad. (Regarding Don't Say Gay" bill)
Gus Bilirakis-Instead of taking responsibility for the results of his anti-American energy agenda, including an 81% gas cost spike, Biden is now asking social media “influencers” to distort the truth and shift blame for the dramatic rise in gas prices under his watch.
