Democrats Need to Unite or Lose Big in 2022

During a recent legislative meeting in Hallandale Beach, Florida put together by State Sen. Shevrin Jones (D), AG Commissioner Nikki Fried called for Democratic Party unity.

Commissioner Fried pointed at how divided the party is and that coming together with a unified message is what is needed to win in 2022.

“I saw first hand in 2018 that after the primary you should have had six candidates for a statewide election that should have come together and come up with a strategy to win.

That didn't ever happen. Each one of us ran our own separate campaigns and came to events but there was no coordination between any of us.

So that has to happen and that it has to happen quickly and it has to happen now.

Something that I have been proposing is that every single Democrat that is on the 2020 ballot, every single Democrat from the US Senate to Soil and Water Management, every other week we get on a call and we talk about the issues of the week, and we talk about how to talk about it we can we unify behind a message and actually look like a party yeah and not individual campaigns.”- Nikki Fried

Fried also talked about how she isn’t a career politician and some people like Rep. Charlie Crist are. “People don’t like career politicians,” said Fried. READ MORE

FloridaDems.org vs. FloridaDems.com

Politics 101 will tell anyone and any political committee to make sure your opponent or potential opponent cannot clown you by using your name or your website URL.

That is exactly what Florida Republicans did to Florida Democrats. The state Republican Party obtained FloridaDems.com in order (my opinion) to confuse voters when they search for what Florida Democrats are doing. Smart move. READ MORE

Active Shooter Drills

My daughter has to go through these, as do the sons and daughters of millions of other Americans. While my daughter shrugs these drills off as just another school drill, many other kids are more emotionally affected.

"K-12 schools must be prepared for all scenarios, but active shooter drills can be emotionally distressing for students. @RepPerlmutter @RepBrianFitz & I introduced a bipartisan bill to ensure drills maximize effectiveness and minimize trauma for our kids," tweeted U.S. Rep. Stephanie Murphy

Rick Scott @SenRickScott-@POTUS has done nothing to hold the @WHO accountable & ensure they treat our democratic ally, Taiwan, fairly. Congress needs to pass my WHO Accountability Act to hold the WHO responsible for its bad behavior & give Taiwan a seat at the table

Debbie Wasserman Schultz @DWStweets-How much more pain will the gun lobby inflict on our communities before Republicans finally act? Senate GOPers must help pass bipartisan gun violence prevention bills #HR8 & #HR1446 to help end this madness.

Rep. Darren Soto @RepDarrenSoto-In Florida, looters have taken ancient artifacts from the Myakkahatchee Creek — artifacts that date back to the first Native Americans. In a @NRDems subcommittee hearing, I spoke about the importance of passing the STOP & RESPECT Acts to enhance protections & prevent these acts.
