Representative Mike Waltz (R-FL), who toured Iowa with former President Donald Trump, explained his support for him on Donald Trump Jr.'s Triggered podcast, where he said, "You do not get Trump's policies without the man."

Rep. Waltz made the analogy of Apple without Steve Jobs or SpaceX without Elon Musk, although he did not express hostility towards any Republican challengers in the primary. In fact, he said they were "great Republicans;" but inferred they lacked some quality Trump has, a sentiment shared by Representative Byron Donalds (R-FL), who said in April that his support for Trump did not diminish his support for Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL), Trump's biggest rival in the primary.

"I am not convinced, and this is where everybody running against him right now. Many of them are great Republicans that I know and appreciate. But you do not get the Trump policies without the man. They are trying to sell people that "oh, yeah, you like those policies. You can get all of that, but you get somebody different at the top. No, you do not get SpaceX without Elon, you do not get Apple without Steve Jobs," said Rep. Waltz.

He then listed the reforms Trump got through despite Congressional opposition, such as border security, economic policy, the establishment of the Space Force, and the successful eliminations of Iranian general Qasem Soleimani and ISIS leader Abu Omar al-Baghdadi.

Moreover, Waltz said he personally witnessed Trump disparage the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), which earned laughs and birthed an Internet meme. However, Trump ultimately renegotiated it.

"At the end of the day, he is the only one that is going to hit the ground running. And I truly think he understands how disruptive the bureaucrats and the bureaucracy and our government is, and I think he is going to just take a sledgehammer to it, and the country needs it," Waltz concluded.

In June, Trump claimed he would reverse course for America in "six months" after Gov. DeSantis suggested a two-term Presidency would be necessary to dismantle the bureaucracy.
