Governor Ron DeSantis has answered the call of Hawaiian Governor Josh Green and sent help to the island after devastating wildfires ignited August 8 killing at least 111 people, including children.

"Florida has deployed specialized K-9s and handlers from Florida’s USAR Teams to Maui," DeSantis tweeted yesterday. "I’ve spoken with @GovJoshGreenMD and have offered any resources they may need in the coming days and weeks. Florida stands with the people of Hawaii."

The fires utterly destroyed the economic and cultural hub of Lahaina, burning more than 2,000 homes and businesses.  Green told CNN the death toll is expected to rise and there are “probably still over 1,000” residents remain unaccounted for.

President Biden came under fire when he appeared confused when asked about the horrific tragedy on Monday, simply saying "No comment" as he got into his SUV.

Biden again appeared confused when he was asked about an upcoming trip he has planned to the Island, where FEMA has taken over the rescue and recovery effort. When asked to comment about the trip by reporters, Biden replied, "No, not now."

Former President Trump released a statement criticizing Green and Biden on their response.

"Crooked Joe Biden, the most incompetent president in the history of our country, with a laugh and a smile said he had no comment on the death and the tragedy," said Trump, calling this "horrible and unacceptable."

"The sad thing is it never should have happened. Our government was not prepared," said Trump. Trump criticized Green for "wanting to do nothing but blame it on global warming and other things that just happen to pop into his head."
