Go Ahead, Make Our Day

JUICE—The proverbial line in the sand has been drawn by Florida Democrats over Gov. Ron DeSantis’s recent threat to withhold the salaries of school officials (not teachers) if they do not comply with his ‘no mask’ executive order, and violate Florida’s Parent’s Bill of Rights.

Senate Democrats Lauren Book, Jason Pizzo, Bobby Powell, and Lori Berman, signed on to a letter announcing that they would create a GoFundMe page to help pay school officials whose salaries are cut for violating state statute.

Florida CFO Jimmy Patronis questioned the group’s potentially criminal act to raise money, causing other Democrats like Sen. Tiny Polsky and Rep. Michael Grieco to take issue with his “bribery” suggestion. READ MORE

I’m Right Here! I’m Standing Right Here! Me, Me, Me!!!

Progressive State Rep. Carlos Guillermo Smith, who we lovingly refer to as “Carlitos” is flaming mad over the Florida Dept. of Health rejecting his request for “confidential” pediatrics records.

Of course, Rep. “Carlitos” says that Gov. DeSantis is to blame. READ MORE

Speaking of blaming, here are other things Democrats are blaming DeSantis for, or accusing him of doing:

—DeSantis cooked up the COVID virus in the guest bathroom of the Governor’s Mansion

—DeSantis, alongside Vladimir Putin, planned the Capitol Riot

—El Nino happens: Ron DeSantis's fault

—Creepy Cuomo resigns: Ron DeSantis's fault

—Biden misses his nap: Ron DeSantis's fault's

—Publix runs out of toilet paper: Ron DeSantis's fault

—Dog poops in house: Ron DeSantis's fault

Children Should be More Fearful of Catching RSV than COVID

Gov. DeSantis said at a press conference in Surfside that RSV is more of a risk to children than the COVID virus, adding that the infection rate for children is at the same level as last year. READ MORE

Michael Grieco-Yes or no? Are you accusing them of a crime, which would be facially defamatory? Moreover I am well-versed in all provisions of Fla. Stat. 1001 (gifts) and none would apply. And I don’t live in @GovRonDeSantis s Florida. I live in the people’s Florida.

Shevrin “Shev” Jones-Health Care IS a social justice issue!

Joe Harding-The CDC is a political organization!

Rep. Anthony Sabatini-I am renewing my call for an emergency legislative session to ban ALL mask and vaccine mandates—and to punish these depraved school board members and other officials who are doing this. Republicans need to get serious about ending COVID mandates NOW!

Nikki Fried-We need accurate, timely, detailed data on the virus ravaging Florida, but our governor is blocking the Florida Department of Health from releasing it daily — for no legitimate reason.

Debbie Wasserman Schultz-FL @GovRonDesantisclaims “media hysteria” and says FL hospitals are "open for business." Simultaneously, he requested 300 ventilators from the federal gov because FL hospitals are facing sheer exhaustion. Stop misleading the public and protect our kids!

Rep. Ted Deutch-Gov DeSantis is threatening to withhold $$$ from school admins who want to use masks to keep students & teachers safe in school and save lives from COVID-19. For him, this isn't about freedom or science or safety, it's about using this public health threat for his own benefit.

Congressman Greg Steube-Over 1 million people have tried to cross our southern border this year, and the Biden Administration has encouraged it. I joined colleagues in demanding answers from the Secretary of Homeland Security.
