House Republicans' Hallway Joke Against Demings, Crist, and Ocasio-Cortez

All in good fun

The U.S. Congress recesses for the entire month of August, and while Democrats control the House of Representatives, and Speaker Nancy Pelosi continues to try to rule with an iron stiletto heel, House Republicans are finding ways to entertain themselves at the expense of their Democratic colleagues.

Tensions are high in the House, but just as some Republicans and Democrats exchange “subtleties” others have reverted to using playful psychological warfare against their counterparts.

This is the case in the Cannon Office building where several Republican lawmakers on the first floor have decided to post their support for certain causes outside their offices in order to cause a rise or poke fun at three Democratic colleagues who must walk by the signs in order to reach their respective offices.

The jokesters—Reps. Michael Waltz (R), Nancy Mace (R), Chris Jacobs, and Greg Pence, all have "Stand With Israel" or "Cuba Libre" signs, or both, hanging alongside their member plaques.

The Democrats these Republicans have targeted are Progressive Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Val Demings, and Rep. Charlie Crist, who all do not have any sign of support for even the Cuban plight on the island.

One staffer told The Floridian that offices thought it was a great idea to greet these Democrats every day with issues that they may take issue supporting, in particular Rep. Ocasio-Cortez, who has defended the Cuban regime and against the state of Israel.
