Championing Abortion in Florida

Florida Democrats haven’t had much to cheer about when it comes to elections. Republicans have been crushing them at the ballot box and in net voter registrations, but with the DeSantis-appointed Florida Supreme Court allowing recreational pot and abortion to be on the ballot in this upcoming November election, Democrats like Sens. Lauren Book and Shevrin Jones, and State Reps. Anna Eskamani and Angie Nixon, are all doing celebratory rain dancing over the higher court’s decision.

On the other hand, Florida Republicans are not and are probably (maybe) second-guessing their decades-long push to have Roe v. Wade overturned.

Be careful what you wish for, right?

Florida GOP Chairman Evan Power highlighted his Democratic amigo's efforts to focus on these initiatives rather than pushing their efforts to win elections.

Why are the Florida Democrats so desperate to talk about a ballot question,” asked Power.

In response to former State Rep. Carlos Guillermo’s promotion of the abortion ballot initiative, Power told his following not to believe liar, liar, pants of fire “Carlitos” Guillermo Smith.

“Don’t believe the lies of little Carlos, Amendment 4 allows abortion potentially up to birth, too radical for Florida,” he added.

For years, abortion has been a losing wedge issue for Republicans on election day. This year, in which Democrats find themselves with their backs up against the wall, abortion could actually save the day for them and at the very least, help mitigate some of the damage Republicans are expected to inflict on them come Election Night in Florida.

Casey DeSantis-Hope Florida works with non-governmental entities (non-profits, the faith-based community, and the private sector) to help struggling Floridians meet their needs. The goal is to make this process simple and efficient.

Hope Florida helps create a pathway to economic self-sufficiency, and since its inception has helped nearly 20,000 Floridians transition off of government assistance.
