Representative Byron Donalds (R-FL) appeared on Fox Business to discuss the Republican approach to funding the border in relation to other issues.

The Florida congressman accused President Joe Biden (D) of enabling a “manmade political disaster” regarding illegal immigration.

“Every city in our country is overrun by this illegal immigrant crisis caused by Joe Biden. We now have 7.3 million encounters at the southern border. We’re on track to have 10 million encounters during one presidential administration,” said Rep. Donalds. “This has never happened in American history. Not even close. It’s a catastrophe and I don’t care what your politics are. It is a manmade political disaster brought to us by Joe Biden and the Democrat Party.”

He continued by saying that there is no feasible solution to the problem if Democrats don’t want to secure the border.

“The reality is that the Democrat Party realizes how terrible of a policy this has become and they’re trying to place blame and change the subject. In the House and in Congress overall, there is no solution because the Democrats do not want change. They’ve wanted this policy for 30 years, now they’ve got this policy. And so, my position – and a growing number of Republicans – our position is simply there will be no money until you secure the border.

“Then we’ll talk about funding the government and other issues,” said Rep. Donalds.

On Wednesday, Donalds blasted President Biden for neglecting his “number one job” which he believes is protecting America from invasions at its borders.

“Money’s not the issue at the southern border, it’s purely policy. Number two, Joe Biden will not reverse course on his policy, which tells House Republicans that there’s no money for Joe Biden and the things that he wants to do. The number one job of the federal government is to secure the border, to secure this nation, and to secure the American people. That is the first job, why would I give you money for any other jobs?

“That’s a simple premise that applies to all of life. It definitely applies to life on Capitol Hill,” concluded Donalds.

The Florida lawmaker represents Florida’s 19th Congressional District.
